What is Stunts?
The Falling Class founder, Matt Scheib, is an Emmy-nominated stunt performer. For over a decade, Matt has worked on numerous film and TV productions, often performing controlled falls from various heights for the camera.
While these moments may look dramatic on screen, they are built on something very precise: training, technique, and body awareness.
Stunt performers train how to fall to help them:
control how they move through space
absorb impact safely
avoid reactions that can lead to injury
At the core of this training is a principle shared with Judo: falling is a skill that can be learned and improved.
Matt’s background in both stunt work and judo ukemi (the art of falling) has shaped The Falling Class curriculum. These same principles are adapted into a safe, gradual, and accessible format specifically for older adults, not stunt performers.
There are no high-risk stunts in The Falling Class. Instead, you’ll learn practical techniques that help you:
move more confidently
respond more effectively to loss of balance
and reduce your risk of injury in everyday situations
